Meu inglês não é dos melhores mas vou tentar responder suas solicitações.
Na verdade, eu pouco sei sobre a história da família mas sou editor do blog http://asdecon.blogspot.com onde edito matéiras sobre as coisas das famílias Vaughan-Jennings. A ASDECON é uma associação de descendentes de confederados americanos em Santarém, que foi fundada na década de 1980 e tem uma sede campestre em Benfica, distrito de Benevides, próximo de Belém. Temos uma associação com terreno próprio e costumamos nos reunir sempre que possível nos finais de semana.
Quanto ao Sr. James, acredito que temos poucas informações sobre ele mas poderia indicar uma prima, a Sra. Natalice Vaughan (tel. (091) 3087-7715), que conhece bem a história dos confederados e poderá lhe ajudar bastante. Só não sei se ela terá fotos dele. Se for possível envie as fotos que você tem de Johnson Vaughan (pai) e Thell (filho) para divulgação no blog da ASDECON. Se quiser enviar matérias sobre o assunto o blog está a sua disposição. Hello Gerardo: Gentileza nao se esquecer das respostas sobre Mr. Vaughan para o seu primo distante, Al Sims. As atividades dele durante a Guerra Entre Estados, nos EUA. Estou sempre visitando o seu site e estando no Para os visitarei. Meu BISAVO paterno seguramente era do Belem, Segundo a TRADICAO familiar, todos os varoes da Familia sao "Jose de Mattos" e o "porque" nao se sabe; aparentemente foi um desintendimento entre os TEIXEIRA DE MATTOS gerou os JOSE de MATTOS. Coisas de Nortistas. O meu bisavo Raymundo Jose de Mattos nasceu ao redor de 1860 no Para. Veio para Vitoria ES, tinha um negocio de secos e molhados na antiga Rua Sete de Setembro, fornecia a Policia Militar e Navios de Cabotagem em VIX. Tambem tinha uma fazenda aonde e agora a Praia e Bairro do Camburi. Em VIX se Casou com uma Capixaba, Segundo minha avo Alema, chamava-se Maris do Espirito Santo. O meu avo SILVINO JOSE DE MATTOS ja nasceu no ES, 1885. O mundo e bem transiente e agora aqui ja se comeca o Cambio para Joseph de Mattos, com o nascimento do meu neto. Qualquer noticias desta genealogia, deixe-me saber. Estes "Cristoes-Novos" falavam pouco... Um triplice e fraternal abraco para a bela turma da ASDECON, cordialmente, Sam de Mattos. Jr
